I don’t know if there is such a thing as a “good” tornado but if there is ..ARLENE was the GOODEST! When she came to work for Dr. Weber and I in the back of the old Goetsch building we were working very hard at what we did best..treating livestock and serving clients. Cleaning, stocking shelves, ordering stuff and talking to salespeople was NOT on our list. Nor was answering the phone and waiting on clients as they came to the clinic. And OH MY GOSH…working the two way radios and keeping track of who was on what calls was a FULL TIME job all by itself. Arlene did it all. We’ve never told anybody until now BUT Arlene WAS Hartley veterinary Clinic and we just worked for HER!!! Not long after, we added some very good people and some very good Doctors to help us all out. The rest is history and with her it went on including part time for over 50 years. We were blessed.
So many memories, such good times. Our sympathies to all the family and really to all of us who will truly miss this great lady.

I remember Arlene as being a 'get it done" kind of lady with lots of spunk, kind hearted and hard working. She never appeared to be afraid to grab hold and pitch in. I can only imagine the joy she experienced when she was recieved into a glorious eternity. Our sympathy to Andy, Viv and Val and your families in your loss and heavens gain. Prayers for all of you!!

Arlene was my cousin and what a sweet gal she was. We kept in contact by snail mail, emails, texts and phone calls, The last time I saw her was 2014 when John & I were on our way to New York and we had a brief visit with her & Andy in their home in Sanborn. She had arranged for Harv, Vel & Kope to be there too. We sat around their kitchen table and had coffee and coffee cake and a wonderful visit. We took pictures and those are priceless. It was a memorable visit. I always called her the energizer bunny because she was such a hard worker. It was tough seeing her deal with illness. She & Andy have touched many lives and she will be missed. To all her family, cherish your many memories. May God surround you in his loving arms and comfort you. God bless you all. Love you, Anna Mae & John Barrett

Dear Andy, Vivian, Valerie, Harv, and extended family,
Of course, losing a loved one's physical presence can be painful in many ways. However, with a life like Arlene's, she will always be in our memories. May you find strength in assurance that Heaven has been made her new home, free of pain, loss, and suffering of all descriptions. We have most enjoyed knowing her despite our distance and shared the delights of knowing their pleasures in Trestle Park. God's peace.

Arlene was a great person! I will always remember what a good neighbor she was to us when we first moved to the farm south of them. She would ride her bike down and stop and visit about the farm, livestock and life on the farm. My sympathy to all of you.

Arlene was a true gem. As a young veterinarian, she took me under her wing and helped me learn the history of the business and how to run one. She was a bulldog on overdue accounts but had the greatest sense of compassion. She always knew who really needed help and compassion. I’m a better person for having known her.
We traded cards all these years and she always wanted to know how my daughters were doing. Our deepest condolences to the family.
