To Lois' family ...
I was blessed to work alongside Lois and Virginia DeWall at Camp Okoboji. They were two of the most wonderful people a person could ever know. They both had a huge impact on my life and am thankful they considered me a friend.
When I think of Lois, I am reminded of her baking goodies in the dining hall. She made some of the best cookies! My preferred choice was her oatmeal and chocolate bars. YUM!
My favorite memory of Lois is one time when we were serving a meal together. We ran out of decaf coffee and had only regular to offer our guests. That didn't stop Lois a bit. She made regular coffee in both pots. When someone asked for decaf, we simply pulled-out the carafe with the orange handle. Later as we were cleaning up, Lois wondered out loud "I wonder if any of them will have trouble sleeping tonight?"
My deepest sympathies in your loss. This world has lost someone very special.
Jeff, it was an honor to serve you and your grandpa breakfast when you would come to visit. I'm so glad we all became friends! I'll bet your grandpa was so excited to see his bride arrive and join him! The care I saw you give to your grandfather when you would bring him in to Red's was beautiful, I can imagine you were the same with your grandmother. From the stories Ralph told me when you were not with him....You were the best grandson ever! Sending Hugs and Prayers to you and your family. Tammy at Red's Cafe
