I am so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She reached out to me in April when my mother died. And had shared with me that her health was not good. She was a good friend to my mom especially with the writing group. Prayers to all of you.

Betty was such an important part of my family’s life. My mother, Doris, considered her one of her dearest friends. We all loved her to pieces. My condolences to Orv and Steve and the whole family. I will miss her so very much.

Mrs. Taylor was such a force. Kind, compassionate, intelligent, creative, firm... the list is endless. She was my 5th grade teacher at Sutherland and she had a huge impact on me. She reinforced my love of the written word and encouraged me, as well as many of my classmates to take chances and write. My favorite memories are when she would read aloud to the class - classics like "Where the Red Fern Grows" and "Old Yeller". I loved her voice. Usually, the Class of '89 has some sort of orange and black laden item at the funeral to represent our love, but since things are different right now, we've decided to do something a little different. We are donating money to the Hartley and Sutherland libraries so books can be purchased in her memory. I think she would've approved of this...a gift that will give to so many others, just like she was a gift to us. Godspeed Mrs. Taylor. I'll miss our talks, but will continue to think of you each time I open a book. Hugs, love, and prayers to Orv and the family.

Betty and my mother, Patricia Hansen, enjoyed watching birds and looking for wildflowers in our neighborhood. I became acquainted with Betty through writing and also publishing my stories with Jean Tennant. Betty recruited me to sell magnets and pins to save the chapel....I felt so honored to be included in that worthy project. She was devoted to Hartley, her interesting hobbies, and her friends. My sympathies to the family. Betty was a very kind, caring individual.

My sympathy goes to you Orv and your family. Betty was Grand Lady and full of knowledge. It was with great pleasure to work with Betty on the Pleasant View Chapel Committee. We have come a long way with the Chapel and straightening of Tombstones. Betty was always there to give us the extra push to get things done. The Cemetery Chapel Committee has some might big shoes to fill. We will persevere and keep things moving forward with Betty in mind every time we do something. May you Rest In Peace Betty
