I, Colleen Mae Cleveringa Lemkuil, went to church with Roseann and Jerry Wegter and their family I also would go to the blacksmith shop with my Dad, Howard Cleveringa. Roseann and Jerry got married when I was 7 years old. I saw them have a family, etc. I saw Roseann in the Sheldon Christian Home. We send our sympathy to you and we wish you best. Jerry's new home is heaven. He is there guiding us each day. Take care and we say a prayer for you now. Blessings to you and yours.

My prayers are with Jerry's family...I remember Jerry as a friend, blacksmith, Co-op work, and best of all the ARCHER FIRE DEPT. When I was quite little my Dad Harry Kaiser- would say, "Want to ride to the Blacksmith Shop?" and I always went along. It seemed Jerry could almost "fix everything" or at least had a idea how-to. My Dad thought alot of Jerry- "A TIME ON EARTH- WELL DONE MY SERVANT."
I grew up with you kids- Merlyn ahead of me, Marvin- my age- and Geraldine under. We were the Archer kids!
I keep smiling thinking of: when Jerry got a long rope to "pull" my pony out of the well, and when he brought the tanker to the ice skating rink made for the kids.....and on. Rose Ann is also an Archer keeper!
Fill the blessings of his life now going on to Heaven--- there's a new FIRE CHIEF IN HEAVEN NOW

Sympathy! I (Peter Boer) was employed at the Archer Coop 1960 through April 1963, the best time of any day was interacting with Jerry! Great in repairing all broken items. Thankful that our life paths crossed! Remembering he always had a cigar and overalls.

Sorry to hear of Gerald Wegter.... There are many memories- the time Gerry brought the Archer tanker full of water- to flooding the ice skating rink for the Archer kids, he was key in helping to pull my horse out of the well,, cleaning the Archer roads snowfall. I am very proud of all his work on the Fire Department of Archer. Gerry's favorite--was his Blacksmith shop and he was very talented and capable.. If my Dad didn't know what to do with a 'project' he took it to Gerry. Growing up in Archer- I know the Wegter family- Gerry and Rose Ann were great people. . Prayers are with you today and for the days to come. Blessings of love, Joyce
