Ted Tiemens was a life long friend of Rod. They enjoyed each other’s company and were always there for those Archer reunions. I was fortunate to meet and become a friend also with Margo and Rod. They were both so open and inviting to our family. All our lives were better because of knowing and loving Rodney.

Rod and I (Stan) have known each other almost forever. We attended Archer school together (Rod was one grade ahead of me). We played together, hung out together, hunted and fished together. Rod, Warner Bonderman, and I were inseparable. We were best friends. As adults, we farmed together. Even bought farmland together. After we married our partners we continued to socialize. Betty, my wife, and I will miss him and that neverending smile.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the Harms family. I was fortunate to work with Rod at First Bank & Trust and always admired his humble and kind nature. Rod was a true gentleman, he was generous with his time for others and will be greatly missed. Our prayers and thoughts are with Margo and family.

What a beautiful tribute to dear Uncle Rod! He lived his life to the fullest every single day! He is a testament to living as a disciple of Christ! I can only imagine the rejoicing in Heaven when he danced his way through those Pearly Gates! He will be deeply missed, but what a wonderful example he was of how to live life!

As I watched the video I let memories of Rod & Margo filter through my mind.... My first thought was “What an unbelievable love story!” When you were around them there was no doubt of their devotion to one another.
I will stop here as I don’t have enough of a vocabulary to give a fitting tribute to Rod. The world lost a good man.

Wehave known Rod from many years ago as I grew up on a farm in the Royal area--Back then--- farmers knew farmers. After his struggles he never lost that smile. That took a lot to continue to be so brave. Our hearts go out to you all at this time. May you find comfort in the memories of your happier times shared as a family over the years.
Tears are prayers too, They travel to God when we can't speak. Psalm 56:8

I have such fun memories of Rodney from when you all were in Fairbanks...in particular one very large family gathering/picnic in the park on a very cold summer day...Lynn, Owen, my dad Bernie, and Rodney were cracking jokes all day long. I will always remember Rodneys’ smile from that day.

There is a memory of Rodney that has forever remained in my heart- -Rodney and Margo lived at the United Methodist Camp- I had come to our cabin alone for 3 days. Yet, I was having deep trouble handling my feelings, emotions, and thoughts- depression. I remember Rodney came to my cabin twice as he and Margo were so concerned. That mere act of reaching out showed genuine love and care. Thank you. Friendship throughout the years has grown and grown....and now I look forward to seeing Rodney again in Heaven. Hang in there Margo- love you. Let's have a good ol' pot luck "When we all get to Heaven!'
