To Steve and Carol, my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mom, I enjoyed watching the video and I was telling my daughter how I rode the short bus with Steve and how Carol was a great friend to my brother.
Mom's are the best!

Our sympathy to Maxine's family. She was such a nice lady. She was dedicated to "beading the wooden jewelry" & she & Rudy would pickup & deliver the finished necklaces. (She even had Rudy cutting the ribbon!!) I think they both enjoyed every minute working together just as they had all their married life. What a nice couple. And of course Jan .. who kept us laughing with her stories of growing up in the Petersen family. What treasures they were & what wonderful memories everyone has of them. Please know you are in our thoughts & prayers.

I must admit aside from my first journey out of Toledo, Ohio to the far away land of Iowa at age 4, maybe 5, I knew of Aunt Maxine and Uncle Rudy only through the many heartfelt stories handed down to me by my folks Karl and Rita Petersen. These stories told of a lovely, warm, compassionate, beautiful soul who I'm certain is sitting with Uncle Rudy in the hand of the Lord with youthful smiles.
With the knowledge that our loss is the gain of Aunt Maxine let this be a time of great celebration and may God bless the Petersen family.
With love in Christ,
Neal Petersen

To the family, my heartfelt condolences for your loss. Please find comfort in the knowledge that God promises to put an end to all the things that have plagued mankind for centuries including pain, suffering and death (Revelation 21:3,4). May these promises from God give you comfort now and real hope for the future. My deepest sympathy.

Aunt Maxine, as we called her and as she was, will always be remembered by us as a kind, and caring person. Always smiling and who could always put a smile on your face no matter the situation. Fond memories of visiting with her, Uncle Rudy (who has been gone to be with the Lord for 7 years now), and their family on our visits from Toledo, Ohio with my family (Jim, Micki, and my sister Shanna) first in 1967 (without Shanna as she was not born yet!), but later in 1978, and then once from Annapolis, Maryland, with my bride, Alena, in 1986. In 1978 when we visited, she made lunches for Uncle Rudy, Steve and me that we took out in the soy bean field around 0600 every morning, to cut the volunteer corn and weeds out of the soy beans. "Walking the Beans" as it was called, and might still be called.
Aunt Maxine, you will be missed, but you are in a place where there is no heartache, no pain, no sorrow, no suffering. You are with Jesus, and Uncle Rudy. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life! No one comes to the Father but through Him! (John 14:6) God Bless the Petersen family during this time of loss.
