Obituary of Clifford Wayne Vander Schaaf

Clifford Wayne Vander Schaaf, son of Joe W. and Berdena (Kleinhesselink) Vander Schaaf, was born on February 25, 1937 at Orange City, Iowa. He spent his youth on a farm near Sanborn, Iowa and attended the Sanborn Community School, graduating from Sanborn High School in 1955.
Following high school, Cliff served his country with the United States Army, being honorably discharged in 1956. He returned home and was engaged in operating the family farm south of Sanborn for a number of years. He was employed as a truck driver with AMPI and Dahlen gas company, both out of Sanborn.
In December of 2007, Cliff became a resident of Fieldcrest Assisted Living located in Sheldon, Iowa. He enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee at McDonalds or at the Hy-Vee Deli. He passed from this life on December 7, 2017 at the age of 80.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joe and Berdena Vander Schaaf; his sister, Lavonne Petty; and all his grandparents.
He is survived by his children: Brent Vander Schaaf of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Kurt Vander Schaaf of Sheldon, Iowa, and Sonya (John) Glenn of Omaha, Nebraska; other friends and acquaintances.
