Memorial Tribute
Clara Eunice Gregerson, the daughter of Otis and Bernice (Riggle) DeVoll was born on June 8, 1922 in Madelia, MN. She spent her childhood years in York, NE and Sanborn, IA.
In 1939, Clara married Floyd Uhe in Sioux City, IA. Early in the marriage, Floyd passed away—leaving Clara widowed with three daughters at the age of 24. On New Year’s Eve, 1951 she married Donald Gregerson. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2001. Donald passed away on November 15, 2004.
Everyone who knew Clara, knew her as the lady who made crocheted dolls. She made over 200 dolls—each one was unique. She thoroughly enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends. When she wasn’t crocheting dolls, Clara enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with her friends. She was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Sanborn.
Survivors include her three daughters and their families: Pauline and her husband Ray Barnes of Denison, TX; Nancy Miller of Lamoni, IA; and Connie Davis of Colleyville, TX; seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Brown of Batavia, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Floyd; her son, Rodney; her husband, Donald; and two brothers: Ralph and Chuck DeVoll.
