Please share a memory of Myrna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Myrna Joan Koldenhoven, the daughter of Nick and Katherine (Zwagerman) Verbrugge, was born in Matlock, Iowa on February 6, 1936. She spent her childhood years in the Sanborn area, attending Sanborn Christian School and Northwest Iowa Vocational School in Sheldon.
On August 27, 1957, Myrna was united in marriage to Henry “Kope” Koldenhoven at the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church. The couple lived their entire married life in and around Sanborn. Myrna worked part-time for several years at Paradox Florists in Sanborn. She was active in her church, enjoyed doing volunteer work, quilting, flower gardening and playing Scrabble. There was a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.
In the spring of 2005, Myrna was diagnosed with a rare type of lymphoma. She passed away on July 15, 2006 at the Northwest Iowa Health Center in Sheldon, IA.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kope; her children: Brian and his wife Cindy Koldenhoven of Sanborn, Sheila and her husband Don Lammers of Denver, CO, and Gregg Koldenhoven and his fiancé Diana Bergh of Longmont, CO; five grandchildren: Brent and his wife Lindsey Koldenhoven, Michael Koldenhoven, Joseph Lammers, Darin Lammers and Alison Lammers; a much anticipated great-grandchild; two brothers: Wally and his wife Lavonne Verbrugge of Sheldon, and Harvey and his wife Linda Verbrugge of Sanborn; one sister Arlene and her husband Andy Haarsma of Hartley; a sister-in-law Velma Verbrugge of Sanborn.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother James Verbrugge, and one grandson in infancy.
