Obituary of Lonnie Ebel

Memorial Tribute Lonnie Shane Ebel, son of Dennis and Connie (Nagel) Ebel, was born at Hartley, IA on June 6, 1969. His early years were spent at Milford, IA, attending Milford Community School from Kindergarten through 8th grade. When the family relocated to Hartley, IA, Lonnie continued his education there, graduating from Hartley-Melvin High School in 1987. Following high school, he spent two years at Northwest Iowa Technical College in Sheldon, IA, graduating through the Building Trades-Carpentry Program. Lonnie was employed as a carpenter for Gregg Construction out of Sibley, IA, Marvin Soukup of Sutherland, IA and also worked for C-S Agrow in Calumet, IA with their Terragator operation. He decided to strike out on his own with an antifreeze business, and later started Northwest Iowa Seamless Gutters based out of Sutherland. While in school, Lonnie had belonged to the local 4-H Club and FFA Chapter, so as an adult, he raised sheep for several years. When he could find free time, Lonnie loved to watch the Iowa Hawkeyes and Pittsburg Steelers football games, or NASCAR races on TV. He also enjoyed being outdoors, so camping and boating were among his favorite activities, the best times being spent with his son, Tyler. Lonnie passed from this life on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his home near Sutherland, IA at the age of 46. Preceding him in death were his grandfathers, Wilbert Ebel and William Nagel. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Tyler Paul Ebel of Cherokee, IA; his parents, Dennis and Connie Ebel of Hartley, IA; brothers: Kyle (Rochelle) Ebel of Rock Rapids, IA, and Korey (Jonna) Ebel of Hartley, IA; one sister, Lana (Kevin) Endorf of Sanborn, IA; Grandmothers: Leora Ebel and Doris Nagel both of Hartley, IA; other relatives and friends.
