My sincerest condolences to the Ahrenstorff family for your recent loss. While Grandma Ahrenstorff was not my grandmother by birth, she was every bit my grandmother. She was an inspiring example of the servant that Jesus Christ calls us all to become. Her service to her family and community is something that I will carry in my heart, mind and soul for the rest of my days. I love her and miss her already. In terms of eternity, I'll see you soon Grandma "A".

We were so blessed to have Jean as a part of our lives. I have many fond memories of family get togethers and visits to the Ahrenstorff farm. Such a caring and giving woman she was. She has earned her place in Heaven!

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you in the loss of your dear mother. Jean came into our lives through my aunt, Clarice Meyer, and we immediately fell in love with her. Jean was such a compassionate lady, always worrying about others and very dedicated in visiting those in the nursing home and bringing flowers or treats she had baked. We would call each other and catch up, just talked to her a week or two ago and she sounded so good. She was so proud of her family and always brought me up to date on her boys and grandchildren! Sending my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. First time we met she was introduced to me as Grandma Jean and I called her Grandma Jean from that moment on. She was just the sweetest person and had a warm heart with plenty of love to go around. Not only will you miss her but an entire community will miss her. I was truly blessed to have known her. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have with her and know that she is smiling down on all of you always.

Jean was a true gem! I remember my very 1st day of Sunday school and I cried the entire time and Jean let me set on her lap the entire time. She was a true Servant, truly serving from her heart!! She made MANY peole's day brighter at the Nursing Home by delivering fresh picked flowers in vases and/or Church Bulletins. God Bless you all and may you always cherish the memories of this most wonderful lady!

Jean was a valued member of the Chapel Committee. As in every other area of her life, she was generous with her time and donations. For the last several months, we held our meetings at the Assisted Living facility so she could be with us. She loved her family and friends and will be missed by many.

I first met Jean back in 2011. I came to Hartley to visit my best friend Charlotte and she said, " Susie, I want to take you to visit my friend Jean. She is the nicest lady I have ever met". And indeed she was. It was Thanksgiving. As I entered her home, she immediately greeted me with a smile. She had baked a cake and had us sit in her living room to talk and have some. Later, Charlotte and I helped her with her turkey baking, and helped her clean up. She later wrote me a letter telling me how nice it was to have met me and to let me know how much she appreciated Charlotte.
