Obituary of Benjamin Goldhorn

Benjamin Jon Goldhorn, the son of Carla Goldhorn, was born at Hartley, IA on May 1, 1978. He lived his youth in Sanborn, IA and attended Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn Public School graduating in 1997.
Benjy kept busy mowing lawns in the summer, and enjoyed riding in the combine at fall harvest. He pumped fuel at Dynos Service Station in Sanborn, and delivered meals for the Dinner Date organization. He had a gift for talking with older people and valued what they had to say. Benjy passed away at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center in Sheldon on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at the age of 34 years.
Survivors include his parents: Carla (Goldhorn) and John Caraconcea; step-sisters: Amelia Qualls of Vancouver, WA, Lisa Ashton of Coarsegold, CA, and Lauren Caraconcea of Santa Maria, CA; step-niece: Riley Qualls of Vancouver, WA; step-nephews: Lyric and Colby Ashton of Coarsegold, CA; aunts: Janice Ewert of Sanborn, IA, Marilyn and Charles Anderson of Webb, IA, and Ronda and Art Laubach of Hartley, IA; cousins: Amy Ewert of Garner, IA, Matthew Anderson of Webb, IA, and Brianna Laubach of Hartley, IA; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Lovella Goldhorn; and his uncle, Bryant Ewert.
