Obituary of Carolyn Buren

Carolyn June Buren, the daughter of Herman and Edna (Sinema) Ver Hoef, was born in Sanborn, IA, on September 27, 1931. She spent her childhood years in the Sanborn, IA, area, and graduated from Sanborn High School in 1950.
She was united in marriage to John Buren on September 14, 1951, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. To this union two sons were born, Jerry and Steven. Following their marriage the couple lived in Sanborn, IA where Carolyn worked for AMPI in Sanborn for 31 years as a bookkeeper and retired in 1996. The love of her life John passed away in 1987. Carolyn moved to the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn on October 24, 2011 and passed away there on February 8, 2012 at the age of 80.
Carolyn was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church of Sanborn. She enjoyed knitting, collecting dolls, collectible toy cows and AMPI memorabilia. Decorating the outside of her house for the different seasons and holiday’s was a great joy to Carolyn. Her pride and joy of her life were her two boys.
She is survived by her two sons: Jerry Buren of Sanborn, IA, Steven Buren and his wife Lindy, of Sanborn, IA; one sister Shirley Drenkow and her husband, Marvin, of Melvin, IA; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and an infant brother Walter.
