Obituary of Daisy Hahn

Daisy Marie Hahn, the daughter of Otto and Christina (Hollander) Kruse, was born on April 17, 1922 in Everly, IA. She grew up in rural South Dakota and later moved to Iowa where she gradated from Everly High School in the class of 1942.
On November 5, 1954, Daisy was united in marriage to Harold Hahn in Rock Rapids, IA. Following their marriage the couple lived in Hartley where Daisy worked at the Hartley Creamery and later worked as a housekeeper. Following a short illness Daisy passed away at the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the age of 89.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church and the Methodist Women’s group. Known locally as “The Mitten Lady” Daisy knitted many hats for the Head Start program, infant sweaters and many many pairs of mittens for those in need.
Daisy is survived by a daughter, Elsie Bernhardt and her husband David of Coulter, IA;, grandchildren: Jonathan & Kathie Bernhardt and their children Jacob and Jillian of Stewartville, MN, Daniel & Rachel Bernhardt and their son Tristan of Newell, IA; a sister: Edna Gunderson and her husband George of Minneapolis, MN; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, son Dean, brother Harm Kruse, and a sister Katrina Kruse.
