Obituary of Tillie Bosma

Memorial Tribute Tillie Bosma, the daughter of Abe and Katrina (Zonnefeld) Hofman, was born on January 3, 1926, in Sanborn, Iowa. She grew up in the Sanborn area and attended school at Sanborn Christian School and graduated in 1944 from Western Christian High School. Tillie went on to attend Calvin Christian College in Grand Rapids, MI and earned a teaching degree. Following college Tillie taught school in Oostburg, WI, for two years, and at a Christian school in Sioux Center, IA, for four years. She was united in marriage to Harry E. Bosma at the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church on June 11, 1953. To this union two sons were born, Elden and Kevin. Tillie was a stay at home mom who raised their two sons while Harry worked for various farmers in the area and later for the Sanborn Coop Grain Elevator. Tillie entered the Prairie View Nursing Home in Sanborn, IA on April 9, 2011 and passed away there on June 22, 2011 at the age of 85. She was an active member of the Cornerstone United Reformed Church of Sanborn. Tillie enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren. She was very faithful in her letter writing to family and friends. Tillie was a great prayer warrior for her family. Tillie was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter Jane; three brothers: Dick Hofman, Maynard Hofman, and an infant brother Leslie Hofman; three sisters: Agnes Uittenbogaard, Arlene Krikke and Elsie Elgersma; a step mother: Jesse Hofman and a step sister: Elsie Kuyper. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her husband of 58 years, Harry Bosma of Sanborn, IA; two sons: Elden Bosma of Denver, CO, and Kevin Bosma and his wife, Marilyn, of Nixa, MO; three grandchildren: Kellen Bosma and his wife, Ramona, of Alton, IL, Keturah Huisken and her husband Dylan, of Missoula, MT, Keaton Bosma and Bruce Alexander of Alton, IL; a sister-in-law: Gertrude Hofman of Sanborn, IA.
