Obituary of Margaret Zinn

Margaret Helen (Gould) Zinn the daughter of George and Mary (Elder) Gould was born in Spencer, IA, on March 6, 1926. She grew up in the rural Spencer area and attended Spencer Public School and graduated in 1943. On March 1, 1945 Margaret was united in marriage to Lester Zinn at her parents’ home in Spencer. To this union three sons were born, James, Roger and Thomas. Following their marriage the couple resided on Lester’s parents’ farm three miles southwest of Spencer. On Tuesday morning of November, 30, 2010, Margaret passed away at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, at the age of 84. Margaret was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer, Daughter of Ceres, COD Dance Club. She loved gardening, embroidery, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are a brother: Bob Gould and his wife Arla of Rural Spencer, IA; three sons: James and his wife Sandi, of Albuquerque, NM, Roger and his wife Marti, of Spencer, IA, and Thomas and his wife Tammy of Des Moines, IA; her grandchildren, Kim Carpenter and her husband Jeff of Des Moines, IA, Lisa Christensen and her husband Andy of Hayward, MN, Chris Zinn of Phoenix, AZ, Missy Meyer and her husband Corey of Dickens, IA, and Thomas Zinn II of Des Moines, IA; four great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Connor, Sophia and Sam; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers George and Arthur Gould. A Celebration of Life Margaret H.
