Pearl (Klaver) Van Beek, the daughter of Harry and Sadie (Terpstra) Klaver, was born near Sanborn, Iowa on July 23, 1923. She spent her entire lifetime in the Sanborn area.
On December 21, 1941, she was united in marriage to Henry William Van Beek at the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church. To this union three daughters were born; Sharlene, Carol and Diane. Together Pearl and Henry were active in farming together in the Sanborn area for many years. The couple retired and moved into the town of Sanborn in 1984. Henry passed away in November of 2000. Pearl continued to live in Sanborn until 2001 when she moved to Rock Rapids where she passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 at the Rock Rapids Health Center in Rock Rapids, Iowa at the age of 86.
She was a member of the Sanborn Christian Reformed Church, where she was active in Ladies Aid in her younger years. In her spare time Pearl enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Pearl is survived by three daughters: Sharlene (Arlan) Spykerman of Sun City, AZ, Carol (Kenneth) Tiedeman of Hull, IA and Diane (Gawaine) Diekevers of Steen, MN; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; one sister: Ida Andringa of Sheldon, IA; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, and two grandchildren.
