Memorial Tribute
Charles Henry West, the son of Arthur and Frances (Epping) West, was born in Sanborn, Iowa on January 20, 1932. He spent his childhood years in Hartley, and graduated from Hartley High School.
Charlie served in the U.S. Navy from 1952 until 1955. He worked at a meat packing plant in Spencer, Iowa until it closed, and then started his own business painting farm buildings.
He was a member of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Sanborn.
He passed away at the Rehabilitation & Care Center in Primghar, Iowa on February 25, 2009 at the age of 77.
Survivors include one sister, Marilyn Peters and her husband Dale (Buzz) of Hartley; one sister-in-law, Joyce West of Sanborn; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Bob, Don and Darrel West; and two sisters, Maxine West and Marcella Jenness.
