Obituary of Donna Alberts

Donna Mae (Klaassen) Alberts, the daughter of Fred and Elma (Kruse) Klaassen, was born on June 16, 1936 at Sibley, Iowa. She grew up and received her early education at Little Rock, Iowa. She later earned an Associate’s Degree from Mankato State College. Donna was married to Merle Alberts from 1959 until 1993. They were blessed with three children: Connie, Joel and Jay. During her years in Sanborn, she worked as a lab technician at AMPI until her retirement in 2003. Donna was a person who loved being with people. She had a smile for everyone she met; whether she was meeting you on the street, or dressed up as “Snookie”—a member of the Sanford Caring Clowns. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards and traveling. She spent much of her time volunteering at church and various civic organizations. She was a member of the First Reformed Church. A loving grandmother, she spent as much time as possible visiting her family. Survivors include her children and their families: Connie Krikke of Hospers, IA, Joel and Brenda Alberts of Excelsior, MN, and Jay and Janelle Alberts of Chagrin Falls, OH; six grandchildren: Brandon and Trevor Krikke, Emma and Isaac Alberts, and Abigail and Grant Alberts; four brothers: Norman (Sheila) Klaassen, Robert Klaassen, Larry Klaassen, and Garry Klaassen; one sister Crystal (Dennis) Clark; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Burdell, and one sister-in-law, Melvina (Robert) Klaassen. In Remembrance of Donna M.
